A light aircraft crashed at the Beachwood Golf Club in Durban North, just before 1pm today, Thursday October 17.
ALS Paramedics, alongside SAPS and Metro Police Search and Rescue, swiftly responded to the scene.
“Upon arrival, emergency teams were directed to the crash site, where the aircraft had gone down. According to reports, there were two occupants aboard the plane at the time of the accident. Fortunately, one of them sustained only minor injuries. Paramedics stabilised the injured individual at the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment,” said ALS spokesman Garrith Jamieson.
The cause of the crash remains unclear at this stage, but officials are actively investigating the incident. All relevant authorities were present to assess the situation and gather evidence for their inquiry.
