In a historic ceremony held at the Old Legislature Buildings in Ulundi on Tuesday, Premier Thami Ntuli presented the newly constituted KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council to His Majesty King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini.
The event marked a significant milestone in the province’s governance, highlighting the collaboration between the provincial government and the Zulu monarchy.
Premier Ntuli took the opportunity to address recent speculation regarding the potential relocation of the Provincial Legislature to the Ulundi precinct.
He reassured the public that, although discussions on this matter were anticipated, there were no immediate plans for such a move. He said he was making the statement to quell any concerns and provide clarity on the government’s position.
“The relationship between the provincial government and His Majesty King Misuzulu is one of mutual respect and cooperation,” Premier Ntuli stated.
“Our commitment is to the advancement and well-being of all citizens of KwaZulu-Natal. We will continue to work closely with His Majesty to achieve these goals.”
The newly appointed Executive Council members, who were introduced during the ceremony, bring extensive experience and dedication to their roles. They are tasked with driving the province forward through effective governance and service delivery, ensuring that the needs of the people are met with integrity and efficiency.
