A call for public assistance has been issued to help locate two missing siblings, Thapelo Ntshangase, 15, and Thabisa Nana Ntshangase, 13.
The teenagers, who were travelling from Mtubatuba to Umdloti, boarded a minibus on Monday morning but were mistakenly dropped off at the Tongaat Toll Plaza. Despite their parents’ efforts to search for them, the siblings remain unaccounted for.
Thapelo was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and black jeans, while Thabisa was dressed in a pink dress with white sneakers. Both are described as having short hair and carrying small backpacks.
In an unrelated case, the public’s assistance is also sought to locate 28-year-old Thabsile Mhlaba, who disappeared while partying with friends at a tavern in Grove End, Phoenix, on Sunday night.
Mhlaba, a resident of Amaoti, was last seen speaking to a man in a silver Volvo (registration unknown) in the tavern’s parking lot early Monday morning. She subsequently left with the man.
Friends of Mhlaba made telephonic contact with her at approximately 3am on Monday morning. She indicated she was with the man but expressed fear for her safety. Attempts to determine her location were unsuccessful. Mhlaba was reportedly seen on Monday seated in the same Volvo in Brookdale, Phoenix. The witness who saw her was unaware she was missing. Her friends suspect she may be drugged and held against her will, though this is unconfirmed.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Thapelo and Thabisa’s whereabouts, or Thabsile Mhlaba’s situation, to contact Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at 086 1234 333.
