Halloween events in Durban

Halloween is fast approaching and if you want to experience the thrills of the season, Durban has some exciting events lined up for you and your family.

• The Oyster Box Hotel is hosting a spook-tacular Halloween High Tea at The Palm Court and The Grill Room on Friday October 25. Expect spine-chilling prizes for the best-dressed guests. • The Florida Road Kids Halloween Walk on Saturday October 26 starts at Mitchell Park at 2pm. This community-hosted event is perfect for families looking for spooky fun — don’t forget to dress up to scare.

• The KZN Dog Sanctuary will be hosting a Halloween Barket at Ridley Park, Queensburgh, on Saturday October 26, from 2pm to 8pm. Take your pets along for trick-or-treating, and support the organisation’s mission to rescue and rehome abandoned dogs and cats. For details, call 071 929 6457.

• Magic and Enchantment Fig Tree Farm and Volvo Cars Hillcrest will be hosting a Halloween dress-up and treasure hunt on Saturday October 26, from noon to 3pm. There’ll also be a mini-market, jumping castles, face painting, and more. Tickets are R150, including a goodie bag and participation in the quest, while spectators pay R50. • Marshall Security is hosting its Spooktacular Neighbourhood Halloween in Durban North on Thursday October 31, starting at 5pm, at the Marshall Security Office, 262 Blackburn Road. • The Durban Society of Model Engineers will host on Friday November 1 with a haunted train ride, from 5pm to 8pm, at 10 Hinton Grove, Virginia. Tickets are R25 per child.

• The Gibaland’s After Dark Halloween Scavenger Hunt takes place on Saturday November 2, at 6pm. Starting at Café Umfula, participants will embark on an eerie adventure. Costumes are encouraged. Tickets are R50 through Howler.
