Concern is mounting over the disappearance of 40-year-old Avishak Durgaduth, a resident of Hammerwood Road, Woodview.
Durgaduth was last seen on Wednesday morning when he left a relative’s home on the same street at approximately 9.30am.
Since then, he has not been in contact with his family or friends.
His Toyota Hilux bakkie was discovered abandoned at Umdloti Beach later that same evening. His cellphone and wallet were found inside the vehicle, heightening concerns for his safety. At the time of his disappearance, Durgaduth was dressed in blue jeans, a green T-shirt, and a black hooded jacket.
Search efforts are now focused along the coastal area between Umdloti and La Mercy, with aircraft crews scanning the shoreline for any signs of the missing man.
The family, along with Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), is appealing to the public for any information that may assist in locating him.
